This great spot is run by one of the local morning radio personalities and a few of his friends and business partners. It’s also considered one of the most famous local restaurants, and that’s because of the quality of the food and coffee. Everything here is made from scratch.
The restaurant has somewhat of a cult following in the area, and once was even featured on the Cooking Channel’s Donut Showdown. You’re likely to see all types of people coming into Bennett’s if you stop in for breakfast.
Everyone from local celebrities to tourists – and everyone in between – can be found any given day of the week. Dogs are welcome and there’s a small library for children to read books while they enjoy their sweet treat.
Hours and Location: Bennett’s Fresh Roast is located at 2011 Bayside Pkwy in Fort Myers and is open every day from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Coffee, Coffee, Coffee…
There’s more to Bennett’s than a cozy atmosphere. You have your choice of a rich Colombian roast, a bold café du jour, and a cold brew. Or, if you need something a little bit stronger, go for an espresso, café latte or cappuccino.
One of Bennett’s signature items is the Biscoff latte. The owners love Biscoff cookies so much that they created this drink that incorporates them in a delicious way. You can also add several flavors to any coffee of your choice, or opt for some tea instead.
What’s even better is all the coffee beans used in any cup of Bennett’s coffee are roasted fresh. The beans are roasted in-house the day before they are used. Bennett’s uses a special “pre-infusion” brewing process to get the most flavor possible out of the beans.
Oh, the Donuts!
It’s not just the coffee that’s fresh and unique at Bennett’s. You’ll also find baked fresh donuts of the best variety: everything from a classic glazed donut, to the new apple fritter on the menu, and more.
Bennett’s uses real Smuckers in its strawberry iced donut, and homemade peanut butter icing on the peanut butter donut topped with Ghiradelli chocolate drizzle.
It doesn’t stop there—even more unique flavors like s’mores, maple toffee crunch, and raspberry almond donuts grace the menu. With all the fun and delicious options, there’s something for everyone to love.
MORE than Just Coffee and Donuts
For all four of you who say donuts aren’t your thing, Bennett’s offers some other menu items too. The most famous non-donut item is the Strata. Only served on weekends in this location, it’s a must try for anyone taking a quick afternoon drive from the nearby Fort Myers vacation rentals.
With delicate layers of French bread, cream, egg, two different cheeses, and a different filling every day, this meal is sure to please your taste buds.
Breakfast lasts until 11 and after that its lunchtime for Bennett’s. You can choose from their famed donut dog, one of the most popular lunch sandwiches on the menu, or the raved about lobster roll. Other options include paninis, salads, and soups.
